Companies bent on changing technology are almost always driven by a powerful innovation engine.
(Okay, okay… and the hope they’ll one day make more money than Microsoft.) An innovation
engine is fueled by talented, experienced, passionate individuals who can’t sleep until they’ve
created the new, new widget, process, or service or radically improved on an existing one.

To extend the engine metaphor: exceptional, innovative people are to success as a competition
clutch and four-on-the-floor are to the Little Deuce Coupe. Take the four who make up our
Executive Team: Between them, they can point to 10 degrees, including advanced degrees
from Harvard, Stanford, and The University of Texas. Gentlemen, start our engine

Mike Yates, our CEO and designated Yoda figure, has made a career of
launching start-ups and returning wayward companies to profitability. He has journeyed far:
semiconductors, process development, system integration, enterprise software, even retailing.
We like to think that, because Mike has accomplished so much in such diverse and competitive
arenas, he’s really, really bright. Our fear is, because Mike surfs, plays tennis,
fly fishes, flies planes (he’s a commercially-rated pilot), and constantly
does stuff with his family, he really, really suffers from A.D.D.
